Should You Sign The Petition To Hit Obama Where It Hurts?

| October 7, 2016

Petitions are becoming particularly popular these days with the internet making it easy for people to sign petitions and express their opinions on a variety of subjects.

As you would expect, some petitions are simply ridiculous, and some petitions are examples of smart, solid thinking. And some petitions hit a nerve.

An example of this last type is a petition that was put forward because people were frustrated about Obama stumping for Hillary Clinton on the government’s dime (read: we’re paying for it). As of October 2, 2016, over 114,000 people had signed a petition to withhold Obama’s pay while he is campaigning for Hillary in an effort to keep a Democrat in the White House.

To be fair, it’s not uncommon for a President reaching the end of his second term to try to get a member of his own party elected as his successor as President, but Obama seems to be doing more than most in history to get this done. He plans to spend a day or two each week in October to campaigning for Hillary.

My question is: what about doing his job of being the executive officer (read: CEO) of this country?

I’m not a supporter of sitting Presidents campaigning for their successors. How about you? Tell us below.
